The most critical component of driver safety is the skill of the operator. Earning your permit through Mullen’s Driving School is only the start of what we have to offer.

With Mullen's Driving School you are literally in the driver's seat when it comes to your options. Our list of services is extensive and is always growing. With Mullen's Driving School, its sister companies and Mullen's Consulting there is no need for you to go anywhere else. For Parents:

To expand upon some of the items listed we would also like to offer you this additional information. In considering enrolling your teens in the driver's education course please take into consideration the following:

Mullen's Driving School is the only driver education course in the state of Maine that warranties its students. If a parent or guardian thinks their teen's knowledge of a particular aspect of driving is lacking, or if a recent student wants clarification on any point of the curriculum, we invite that student to take that class again, this time on us. The instructors employ many different teaching techniques and styles and the have an abundance of training materials available to them as they deem appropriate for each section of the curriculum. There is a fine line between reinforcing the seriousness of driving and making sure each student has fun, feels comfortable and remains interested & focused for the duration of the entire course. We have maintained that perfect balance with all of our graduates for decades.

Classes will be made enjoyable in part for students as they will be treated as adults. Class rules will reflect this. All of the information wil be presented in a memorable way for all students. For students that have access to the internet, they will be able to use our website and Facebook page to communicate with classmates over coursework for the duration of the class. Also, you and your teen are welcome to call our office or your instructor to get any of your questions answered during the three and a half weeks of the class.

We separate ourselves from other schools in the way we incorporate parents into the mix. Mullen's Driving School encourages parent involvement. Please don't hesitate to talk to us about auditing one of our classes or meeting the instructors in your area. We want you to feel confident in choosing us before your child steps foot into one of our classrooms. After enrollment, parents can attend any of the classes with their teen and parents are welcome to ask questions of the instructors. We are also happy to offer you the option to ride along with your teen and the instructor if at any point that appeals to you.

The State of Maine, upon your teens graduation of the course, gives the parents the responsibility to pick up where we leave off. Of course that's when the value of our schools will become even more apparent. On the last day of class, Mullen's Driving School has the parent or legal guardian attend the final hour in order for us to prepare you for what's ahead. Driving laws and the recommended techniques that go along with them are constantly evolving and we believe it a crucial element to keep the parents as up to date as the students. We have set up these conveniences in order to give you peace of mind and as a source of the most current and important information when it comes to your teen's safety. The safety of your child will always be Mullen's Driving School's number one priority. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to offer your child a lifetime of safe driving.

Additional Amenitites

We offer many additional in class resources for our students. They will spend time under the hood learning how to properly maintain their own vehicles in the future. We instill the importance of vehicle responsibilty from washing the car, to filling it up with gas and regularly checking the oil. They will partake in games designed to test their progress throughout the course and watch videos that include teens from the State of Maine and illustrate the vitality of risk management behind the wheel. We currently have 16 locations in Maine and 7 of those locations offer motorcycle courses and we are always expanding. We have professionally trained male and female driving instructors with years of experience. We offer guest speakers, at the discretion of the instructor, that range from blind pedestrians, to accident victims to local members of the police & fire departments.

We at Mullen's Driving School feel it's very important to stress that your teens will be driving in real world conditions and they will be experiencing as many varied driving locations as we can offer in your area. They will not spend their ten hours in a parking lot. Our cars have a strong presense on the streets, roads and limited access highways of Southern Maine. Students taking the course during winter months will be offered the additional advantage of learning to drive in conditions that, as citizens of Maine, we know we face for many months of the year. For those parents that enroll their students in the warmer months, we offer private lessons at the same price that we offer additional driving hours in the winter. In fact, all graduates of Mullen's Driving School will be offered additional driving hours at the same hourly cost as when they were enrolled.

Services For Special Needs

We offer vocational rehabilitation for people whose licenses have been suspended due to injury, aging or illness. We provide much-needed driving time to foster kids and teens in group homes who would have difficulty meeting the state's requirements otherwise.

We are proud to offer senior driving evaluations. A driving evaluation can help determine if reactions, mobility and cognition are sufficient for safe driving. The evelauation will help them to realize if they have maintained the skills needed to continue to drive safely and they will help give their grown children some much needed peace of mind.

Our driving instructors offer preparation for the Maine road test for drivers of all ages. Our cars are also available for use in driving exams. All of our driving courses and instruction are specifically tailored for driving in the State of Maine and all of the challenges that encompasses.
